Senior Digital Media Buyer

We are seeking an experienced digital media buyer to join our growing team. This person will play an integral role in the creation and tracking of our digital advertising campaigns. The ideal person will thrive in a collaborative setting, have an eye for detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be part of a small, nimble, and creative team that is constantly seeking to innovate and reimagine digital communications in support of our progressive clients. 

This position is located in Washington, DC. The New Media Firm employees are currently working in the office. All employees must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination and boosters. Proof of vaccine required. Supporting our clients some nights and weekends may be required during high-volume times such as elections. 

Responsibilities include:

Design, monitor and optimize digital advertising plans that help clients reach their strategic goals – including what KPIs will best help measure that success. 

Manage project timelines to ensure client deliverables are on time and within budget.  

Analyze and communicate digital plan performance throughout the campaign to ensure all TNMF teams and our clients are informed of progress, any necessary optimizations, as well as results.  

Develop and execute intent/testing, e.g., A/B or multivariate tests, for key paid media performance levers such as ad copy, creative, and landing pages. 

Collaborate effectively and confidently with clients and colleagues across all areas. 

Develop and support more junior Media Buyers with all aspects of the digital media planning process. 

Skills and Qualifications:

3-6 years of experience in running paid digital media campaigns – either agency side or for an organization. 

An in-depth knowledge of the platforms that make up our tech stack, or knowledge of similar platforms – GCM, GTM, Basis, Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads, and Asana. 

Experience with advertising technologies on the buy-side of the online ad landscape including pixels, creative formats, ad serving, & viewability/verification. 

Ability to both gather and analyze ad performance data and to teach others how to gather and analyze the same data. Help the team make adjustments to optimize ad campaigns and to develop actionable recommendations to report back to the client on their campaign performance in a clear and user-friendly manner. 

Experience working on political, advocacy, or union campaigns—and a knowledge of the strategies, tactics, goals, and timelines of running those campaigns is a plus. 

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range for this position is $70K-$80K depending on relevant experience.

Knowledge of both programmatic and direct buying is appreciated but not required for this position. We are looking for an individual who is curious about the latest digital advertising trends and wants to make a difference helping progressive political candidates and organizations.

Responsibilities include:

Draft and review digital advertising plans that help clients reach their strategic goals – including the ability to help clients define and measure that success. 

Build out those digital advertising plans on our DSP and place the related buys across multiple platforms with precision. 

Provide day-to-day monitoring on video, display, OTT, SEM and paid social campaigns – including bid management, budget allocation, forecasting, performance monitoring, creative testing, keyword expansions, etc. 

Monitor and analyze paid digital trends, investigate irregularities in performance, identify strategic opportunities for improvement and present recommendations to optimize and improve campaigns. 

Collaborate effectively and confidently with clients and colleagues across all areas. 

Skills and Qualifications:

Up to 2 years of experience, including past internships. 

Familiarity with the pieces of our tech stack – GCM, GTM, Basis, Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads, and Asana – or similar platforms is a plus. 

Interest in and some knowledge of digital advertising – programmatic, OTT, and/or social. 

Experience working on political, advocacy, or union campaigns—and a knowledge of the strategies, tactics, goals, and timelines of running those campaigns is a plus.
